Wonderfully warm greetings to you this mid festive season… well as promised on our fanpage this blog post is all about my new hobby knitting.
Well I have wanted to kearn to knit for a very long time and have had a go here and there but never been successful… but with the dawn of a new year I was determined to bring in the new year having learnt the basics of a new hobby in my case knitting. I had always been put off learning to knit as many of the patterns looked very complicated and often there are no basic knitting insturctions to get you started.
Luckily for me our knitting Tutor Lesley was on hand to take me through the basic steps and it is testamount to Lesley’s ability to teach anyone and I mean anyone (including me) that has seen me past 2 knitting projects and now I am onto a 3rd and soon to be 4th!!!
Now lets not get carried away here, we are only talking about basic scarves and snoods, but this is a great step forward for me, as I have managaed to cast on, knit and cast off without any further supervision from my tutor. Again this is down to the great teaching skill of Lesley and the confidence she has instilled in me that I can do it and I am. I plan to practice my basic skils and improve on them over this coming year and sharing my expereinces along the way.
I dont know about you lovely creative peeps, but my hands just have to be doing something all the time… so this way I can create lovely felted things by day for my day job and be doing something creative but relaxing in the evenings.
Pictured above is the progress of a current scarf project I am working on using the lovely Noro wools we have had in the shop for over a year now… and finally I am getting to use them!! Yay!!
