Jacqui Thompson Heartfelt Designs and our featured designer

Jacqui Thompson has always enjoyed being busy crafting from a very early age – play would take the form of making something, and to this day she still believes that crafting is like playtime for adults, with the lovely bonus of having an item to enjoy at the end of playtime!
Early makes would be handmade knitted or sewn clothes for dolls, followed by woollen knits in her twenties, and then when her own children came along the  plastic toy
pile was supplemented with knitted clowns and animals.

For a few years handmade cards were the norm for family and friends, then crafting took a sewing turn into creating items for a Christmas stall with a similar minded friend (often over a glass of wine!). Once the sewing machine was out again it never got put away – and many clothes were up-cycled into heart garlands, cushions and lavender filled accessories for summer craft stalls, culminating in winning the best dressed stall at the Lichfield Medieval market in 2008.

Having always had a go at crafts that appeared do-able, the idea of learning new skills at workshops then inspired Jacqui to try her hand at felt-making. At Tigerlily Makes the tuition given by Lisa was excellent and a few courses later Jacqui was making her own style of felted accessories to wear and for the home and so www.heartfeltdesigns.me.uk
was created.

More than anything though Jacqui just loves the whole making experience. So much so, that when Lisa invited her to share some of her textile experience and join her to offer textile workshops at the Tigerlily Makes studio she was happy to accept – after all it was like being asked to come out and play all over again.
