Wheres Lily been recently?

Good day to all you lovely makers, creators and genrally lovely woolly people out there.  Today I thought I would share one of my recent visits to Attingham Park.

Attingham Park was  built for the 1st Lord Berwick in 1785. It was owned by the same family for more than 160 years. Sadly thier ownership of the estate was to prove a problematic one due to some of its occupants lavish ways and lifestyle, resulting in one occupant having to sell off all his furniture to pay his debts. The atmospheric dining room, set for an evening banquet, and the contrasting decoration of the delicate feminine Boudoir are just some of the highlights of the estate. The walled garden and many park walks offer a great ways to explore the landscape. The mansion, set in beautiful parkland designed to impress, is at the heart of this great estate between Shrewsbury and the River Severn.

Why I love this property, well because its a hidden gem in an unexpected location and is run and preserved by the national trust.  We are National trust members who are passionate about preserving our national heritage and historic landmarks.   Why is this so important?  Well because we are one of the few countries that have such a long and impressive history and forms part of the culture, fabric and makeup of a united nation today.

In order to understand who we are today we must understand where we have come from.

My thanks to the National Trust for providing opprotunities to connect with our heritage and past.

Who is Princess Lily the Lamb

Welcome lovli makers and creators and generally lovely people, today I thought I would share a little something more about me, my name and my history.

Its all in a name: Lily obviously derives from the flower Lily but also means innocent, graceful, beautiful, loyal, smart, and pure. These are atributes that are required when carrying out my right royal adventures, going about my duties in an honourable and respectful way with grace and dignity.

So to my history… like my Mummy Lisa Marie Olson over at Tigerlily Makes I have a deep Welsh history on both sides of my family. Mummy’s family come from south Wales, Swansea and Prontyprdd mainly and Daddy’s family come from the Milford Haven area.

Our family history has been traced back so far to 1833, but it is believed to date back as far as the 16th century with some very Welsh royal connections. We will keep you posted as developments arrise. We come from a long line of agricultural workers and miners… so it’s really no surprise to me that we have such strong woolly connections. The family moved to the midlands over 40 years ago to find work in the staffordshire area and fell in love with the county.

Well I had better dash mummy is calling so I had better be a good little lamb and get back to my duties. Will be sharing some more adventures very soon. Thank you for visiting and come back soon.
