Hello to all the lovely bloggers and blog readers in the blogosphere. I thought I would write a post about one of the workshops I will be delivering at The Craft Shows in June.  I will be there with some of my fellow Team members on the Team Crafty Beggars stand.

Team Crafty Beggars is headed up by Wendy Turner Webster, TV presenter, animal rights campaigner and ambassador for many animal welfare charities. She is an enthusiastic crafter, who has found the therapeutic benefits in crafting. Being creative is an instant ‘mood lifter’ and she is keen to grow the Team, spread the word and share the joy!

Team crafty Beggars is made up of several expert crafters, who deliver a whole range of workshops, finished items and kits.  We all aspire to deliver inspirational knowledgeable workshops and products to keep the creativity flowing and our minds are always buzzing with the next creative project.

One of the classes I will be running at the show is this bloom in a Tin workshop and one of my favourite projects currently, as it lends itself to a whole host of possibilities. The idea to create mini scenes in tins came to me in back in 2017 when I was looking for something to keep some of my special bits of memorabilia in.  As I was thinking about something to arrange them in, I started to research boxes, jars, tins and other lidded items.

I found the hinged tins and it wasn’t until early 2018 after nearly a year of researching the right medium, that I went ahead and purchased them. They sat in my studio for some time after that whilst I explored some ideas as to how to decorate them and finish them.

Quite often as a designer I explore things 2 or even more years before a project, kit or finished item gets produced as a complete project.  Much of them time there are many prototypes, some of which I keep and some that are not re-workable.

You can book this workshop with me via the link below and you can also get a full 50% of your entry ticket price, by quoting EV182 at the checkout.

Every workshop booked with myself will receive a free sewing pattern, whilst stocks last.
